Something else to waste your time

Just in case you have some time on your hands, http://www.jigzone.com/.

Things have been going well around here. I have a job I need to get done I just haven't been motivated. It not a very creative project just panels. So it entails a lot of sewing long seams with lots of fabric, now if I had an industrial machine (Rick - hint, hint, wink, nudge!) I could whip through it much quicker. I actually have an industrial machine at my folk's house; it just doesn't work well. It leaves a trail of oil along my stitch line. I guess I need to look into fixing it or trading it in. It is just that it weighs a ton, and is huge, it isn't very easy to take to a shop and I haven't found a sewing machine repairman that makes housecalls.

We just had family pictures done last week; it has been 6 yrs since the last family picture. We figured since we were going to get passport pics we would go ahead and get family pics done as well. I will be getting them out to family soon.

Nightmares and shoes

We have recently been having some issues with the boy having nightmares. So we have removed anything scary from his room. Well, it so happens that he thought his curtains were scary (they were bright colored frogs, I guess it was something about the eyes). So that means I get to redecorate!!! For some the word "decorate" fills them with fear, not so for me, any excuse I can get I will decorate. I took GB to Wal-Mart and let him pick out the fabric of his choice, he choose race cars. Very cool!!! For less than $20 we have awesome curtains. And best of all, no nightmares for the past few days.

While I was out shopping today, I happened upon some clearance sales. One of the things I have discovered about kids is that their feet grow at an alarming rate. So when I see shoes on clearance I try and get what I can.

Let me say that DQ has owned at least 4 pairs of "ruby red slippers". I thought they didn't make them in her size, but alas I found them for $6. Cute and cheap, what more could I want. As for GB I couldn't resist these "race car flag" shoes, they were only $2. He thinks he is the coolest!!

Seattle

Well, we had a wonderful time ion Seattle, it is so good to spend time with extended family. The traveling part of the trip left something to be desired. Lets just say that the only way I am flying "American Airlines" again is with the voucher they gave us. You know it is a bad trip when a $1000 voucher doesn't seem like enough. But we are all safe and there is something to be said about that.
Enough of the bad.

It was great to see Karin and Mike and their "boys" (boys is used lightly because they are almost men).

Rick's dad made it out from Wisconsin.

We stayed with CJ and Ross and their dogs, Bob and Slick.

While in Seattle we visited the Science Center,

Pike Place Market,

and DQ's favorite "Queen Mary's Tea Room".
