Busy, Busy,Busy....

Ok, I know it has been a while, so very sorry to my faithful readers. (insert emoticon) It has been a busy month, after not having any work over October, I seem to be making up for it in November. We had 2 houses to install before Thanksgiving, I say we as Rick is my installer. I make everything and he helps me put up the curtains, it just gives us an excuse to buy power tools. I am still waiting for Craftsman to come out with a cordless stapler. The tools I use the most (besides my sewing machine) are my glue gun and electric stapler. The drill and chop saw are the next busiest tools in the house.



The curtains were installed in a living/dining room and kitchen.



There were 5 windows in the living/ding room that I made a simple valance. I know it doesn't look simple, it is basically a long piece of fabric with tapered ends that is tacked at the top and threaded through a decorative rod. What makes it look so rich is the trim (at $12 yd it better do something special).





The kitchen is make out of a check silk with gold silk inverted pleats and burgundy covered buttons, it is all stapled onto a 1X3 board and installed with "L" brackets.
It all turned out very well, and the customer kept giving me a hug saying thank you. I am still amazed that people pay me to do this.
