Amazing all that can happen in a week.
GB started school this past week, he is in a preschool program at the elementary school. The bus picks him up at the driveway, and he thinks he is so cool with his spidey backpack. He only goes 4 days in the afternoons so I still have plenty of time with him.
While the boy was in school on Friday, Rick and I installed some roman shades I had made. They turned out well, I am pretty happy with the results. The shades were for a friend who just moved into a new house. It is fun to be able to have Rick work with me in my decorating business, a big selling point for people is that we install what we make. Of course it gives us an excuse to buy tools, and any thing we get I make sure I know how to use. Although I haven't gotten to proficient on the table saw, I have become a master with the cordless drill. The chop saw and jigsaw come in pretty handy too. Most of the window treatments I make are installed on boards, and some are made out of plywood then upholstered.
Also, today was DQ's birthday party, her actual birthday isn't until Thursday, but we had a few girls over for some cake today. We had a picnic party theme (DQ's idea) and the girls ate there cake on blankets on the ground and made a butterfly craft out of tissue paper and cloths pins. It all turned out really cute. The big thing about today is we told DQ that we are going to Disneyworld at the end of the month. I made the plans at the beginning of August, but kept them a secret till her birthday (mostly because I didn't want to hear "How many more days?" for 2 months). But the kids and I and my mom are going to for a long weekend at the end of the month. Rick had no desire to go and my mom was more than happy to come with us. DQ was so happy she had tears in her eyes, this is something she has wanted to do for years. I wanted her to go while she was still innocent enough to enjoy everything.
