You see how it is? I write in spurts.
So, back to our exciting summer!
We spent a week in Racine visiting Ricks family and some friends whom we haven't seen in quite some time. One of the highlights of the trip was going to the Renaissance Faire with dad and Lainie (dads sister, which would make her Ricks aunt, whom the kids call Aunt Zainy, for obvious reasons) oh so much fun. During one of the skits, the Swordsmen, they kept throwing out one-liners and jokes so fast, we had trouble catching our breath we were laughing so hard. It was great! This is a pick of Rick and the kids talking with Dead Bob, he was really funny for a dead puppet!
We always try to get to the beach and fly kites. Believe it or not, this year we couldn't get enough wind to get the kite high enough. Oh well! So we tried for a while then we dug in the dirt and waded in the lake. It was a pretty warm day, but as soon as you get those feet in the water, WOW!!! Talk about chilly!
As always, we love to sit and talk with grandma and grandpa and hear all of the stories. My favorite story this time was hearing all about their criminal history. Actually, I think grandma said she hasn't even gotten a speeding ticket, but grandpa had some stories to tell. You'll have to ask him about it!

I remember being in the car when Grandma got her speeding ticket. (Well, maybe he let her go with a warning . . . )
It was in Ohio, I think, on our way back from Cumberland. I just barely had my license. Dad and I would speed every chance we got behind the wheel. Mom never seemed to -- but she was the one pulled over! Here it is, nearly 35+ years later and I'm still laughing.
(Sorry, Mom!)
